Retains the original look, but altered enough to make it feel different and retains an aesthetically pleasing design. The added "dirt" filter and rounded tile cards add to the sense that it's a "Wish You Were Here" old time-y post card, aided by removal of the character's outlines. Overall, it's a interesting and unique twist/take of MLP:FiM, though there may be some issues when making comics requiring more dynamic, action-oriented tile sets. For top-down styles with dialog or following the characters along, it'll work just fine, but having the zigzag panels you see in American comics or Japanese manga for fighting or dramatic scenes, it "may" not work.
For starters, I find the comic just adorable! As far as the rumors go, if they are true, then whatever, so long as the personality stays the same, then I'm fine with it. Also, I have a theory that Luna and Celestia are the only two real alicorns, born naturally, and thus have immortality, or at least a really long lifespan. Cadence and eventually Twilight, however, earned their respective crowns, but that doesn't necessarily make them immortal, just changes their apperance to better adapt to their ever-increasing power, kind of like a DBZ thing.
